I shot Sarah and Richard’s engagement session in Downtown Leesburg. They were a really fun couple and easy to work with. Sarah is an aspiring photographer herself, hopefully the experience of being on the other side of the lens was fun for her. Luckily the rain held off that day and let us finish the shoot. We just wondered around and went all over looking for interesting areas. Their wedding is going to be October 17, 2009 in Alexandria. I haven’t shot a wedding there yet so it should be alot of fun. It’s always fun doing weddings away from home.
Kimberly and Jonathan are my newest clients. They plan to wed on Nov. 6, 2010 so we have a long time to get to know each other. They plan to do their engagement session in the spring of next year and haven’t decided on wedding locations yet. It will be fun to see how all the planning unfolds. Congrats on your engagement and thanks for choosing me as your photographer!
On June 20, 2009 Megan and Matt were married at Central Chapel and I got the privilege of shooting it. I also shot her sister’s wedding in the old sanctuary at Central Chapel back in 2006 I believe. It’s always nice shooting for the same family again. It’s like a chance to see old friends again and catch up on how their lives have changed.
Megan and Matt met each other in college while taking a Japanese course. Darn! I should have used my little bit of Japanese on them. A few years later Matt proposed to Megan at War Memorial Park. The wedding was beautiful and went perfectly. Their fur-child, Otis, was the ring bearer and I have to say he stole the show just a little bit with that cute little dogie tux he was wearing. Some of the wedding clothing came from The Barn in Inwood WV. The beautiful flower arrangements were created by Flowers Unlimited in Martinsburg WV and the delicious cake was baked by Sweet Sensations. Dee and Monte from D&M DJ Service kept the party hopping all night even when the thunderstorm blew in during the reception. That put an interesting twist onto the anniversary dance! I have to say it was a wonderfully fun wedding. I hope the two of you have a long and happy marriage.
Jennifer and Richard seem like a really sweet couple. We shot their engagement session at Hagerstown City Park which is a wonderful place to do a session. I think the images came out great! They plan to tie the knot on August 22, 2009, my first wedding after I come back from vacation so I should be good and refreshed and tan hopefully 😉 . They plan to get married at South Berkeley Baptist Church and then celebrate the night away at the same location. I’m sure the wedding is going to be wonderful, all my weddings are!
About a week or two ago I did an engagement session with Amanda and David at Clear Brook. It was a very nice sunny day and I was excited to try some flash off camera shooting with my pocket wizards. I use them all the time at weddings but not for engagement shoots. I would probably use them more if I had an assistant to help set stuff up. It takes a little bit more time.
Amanda and David’s wedding will be September 19th of this year, which has been a very popular date! They plan to wed at the Clarion in Shepherdstown and their reception is there also. They seemed very excited about having thier engagement images taken. David especially because he is a fellow shutter bug and was of course very interested in all of my photo toys. Hopefully Amanda will let him get his own toys some day.
My husband, Zack, and I had a great time for our nine year anniversary. Thursday night we went to the Drive inn in Stevens City to see Star Trek and 17 again so we would still be awake at midnight when it turned into June 19. At midnight I gave him his father’s day present because I couldn’t wait to give it to him anymore, a one hour massage at serenity day spa! He always wants me to give him massages so now he can get a nice long one. I think it will be his first. He got me a massage, manicure and Pedicure last year for my birthday so I thought I’d return the favor this year.
After my rehearsal, for the second part of our love day, we went to the Charles Town Race Track. We don’t have a lot of money to waste so we only get to go there on special occasions. We ate at the epic buffet and bet on the horses. We normally take $20 each and make minimum bets and see how long we last. Although tonight wasn’t our lucky night, we still had a great time. We played a few slots after the last horse race and decided it just wasn’t our night to win and decided to go home. Last time we went we started to play with two dollars and went home with over a hundred. That night was a pretty good night!
Zack and I have had a great nine years together and I’m sure it’s going to continue for a whole bunch more. Now we are excited because we get to start planning our ten year anniversary which we plan to do something big on. Our first choice is to take two cruises back to back in China and Japan. Both of us have always wanted to go to Asia, especially Japan. Second choice is a cruise around Australia, and third is a cruise around Hawaii. Neither of us have been to any of these places so were really excited!
Judy and Kris were married on June 13, 2009. They met in Junior High and one Christmas eve Kris proposed to Judy after his family Christmas dinner. They were married at Oakland United Methodist a very interesting church with a restaurant called Paul’s located inside. Judy found her wedding dress at David’s Bridal and Kris found his tux at Cape Cod Formals in Shepherdstown WV. The reception was celebrated at the Holiday Inn located in Martinsburg WV, a great place for a reception. Judy’s beautiful flowers were designed by Flowers Unlimited and her cake was made by Kathy Stewart a church friend. The nights entertainment was provided by Blue Moon Productions and he did a great job! Everything went wonderfully, it was a great wedding. I hope you enjoy the slide show below.
